I started this business on a shoestring
budget and, thanks to hard work and my loyal customers, it has developed
into what it is today. I enjoy my trade and can think of nothing else I would
rather do than work with wooden boats. There is a certain nostalgia about
it that appeals to most of us, something that the technology age has all
but eliminated. The simple pleasure of using our hands to make something
beautiful can never be replaced and the appreciation of that beauty shall

A large portion of a boatwrights' work is still completed using hand tools such as the jack plane I am using here. The curves and angles one must work with preclude the use of most power tools for the final shaping.
